You’ll also spend a good amount of time thinking about your car and it’s condition. The last though on your mind is a motor accident claim, but it’s something you’ll need to think about to pay the d bills. The earlier you file your claim the better.

There are a few things that you’ll need to know if you were to get into a motor accident. Following these simple steps that will make filing any claim easier.

Staying on the scene of your accident and waiting for the police to show up is important.

You can call the police yourself, or have someone else call them. Taking down the other motorist insurance information isn’t going to be enough. You’ll need a copy of the police report after they carefully examine the scene and hear each party’s explanation. Not abandoning the scene of the accident will help your motor accident claim later on.

Take as many pictures of the accident scene as possible.

Using the camera on your cell phone to begin taking pictures of accident scene will help with additional evidence that will support your claim. Most camera phones offer good quality pictures, but don’t worry about the quality of the pictures that’s not so important. Gathering information from the other party involved is also important. You’ll want to get their license number, make and model of their car, insurance information and the registration number. As mentioned earlier this information without an accident report is not going to be enough.

Once you get home you’ll need to contact your insurance company immediately and file a motor accident claim. This is your responsibility. Depending on the company you may be able to file your claim online, or you will have to call the number in your policy they provided you with. This can be simple process or a difficult one. Unfortunately, this is often when you find out how good your insurance company is.

Making sure that you follow the process above to gather all of the necessary information while on the scene the entire process will be b e much easier, and you’ll have more time focusing on getting better, and having your car fixed. Worrying about a motor accident claim too late will make things difficult for you and bills will begin to pile up.
